Lucy has outstanding kite skills. She needs to practice the water start with a 9 meter kite to get started riding. She has already done the water start before and should be able to ride effectively with the right size kite. The wind conditions were not right for her during this lesson, so she felt overpowered with a larger kite, but she would have been underpowered with a smaller kite. She needs to do a lesson in about 10-15 knots with a 9 meter kite and a large board. She feels comfortable body dragging with a small kite and can retrieve a board in the ocean. She does need to pay attention to not pulling the bar in on both sides when steering the kite.

Ben needs some work on the water start, but he can consistently perform the water start. His problem is typical of beginning kite boarders. He needs to relax more and learn to sheet out and steer the kite when necessary. He is very determined as a student and understands how to control the kite. He does need some work on board skills.
